Poor quality control - Two boxes of hissNov 25, 2009
By M. Shipe I've ordered and returned two of these DI boxes. In both situations, as soon as they were connected to the board, they emitted a loud, continuous static hiss, much too loud to be ignored in performance. I fortunately had two other direct boxes on hand to replace this two-channel direct box, and both of them worked just fine, so the problem is definitely with the box, not my other equipment.
Given that this has other good reviews, I'd say that they're not all like this. However, the fact that I was able to end up with two in a row that hissed like cats tells me that the quality control leaves something to be desired. Order at your own risk.

Another of the few gems from BehringerMay 31, 2011
By Bobby Shively I own three of these DI boxes now, and I have had great luck with them. Behringer has very few trustworthy products - but there are a few gems in their lineup. The EP series old iron amps, the X8500 microphones, and this DI box have been great. My only minor complaint is that the battery compartment uses a tiny Philips screw, so I've got to carry yet another tool in my gig bag... but the battery lasts at least a few 4-5 hour gigs before needing a fresh one.

Worked perfectly at the gig!Aug 30, 2010
By Carlston H. Wood III I ordered this DI box for an acoustic gig I was performing at with a friend of mine. I liked the fact it had two inputs and decided to give it a try. We had already played at this gig with our acoustic guitars running through two seperate amplifiers and needed to get them through the sound board and out of the front of house speakers. It worked like a charm. I got the box the day before the gig and found the instructions easy to follow. It gives you two options, battery or phantom power. I used the phantom power and it sounded great! It was easy to control the sound of the two acoustic guitars and the vocals and all but eliminated the feedback we were experiencing at the previous gig! In fact it sounded so great we held the crowd and and got offered more gigs at the tavern! I highly recommend this product. 5 stars!

Good priceMar 03, 2009

"yay me!"
This is a good price for an active stereo DI. It has a lot of cool features as well. I like how it can be powered from the board or from the battery. You might want to use the board because the battery lid is hard to take off, and the battery doesn't fit too well in there either.

Doesn't work well at allJan 29, 2012
By Bobzinger I've been doing sound and lighting for 40 years. I bought this for use at our church to replace 2 individual xlr to 1/4 radio shack direct boxes. I hooked it up and it's much noisier than the cheap non-active direct box. We replaced cables, batteries and used phantom power. Nothing worked...It still hums like crazy.
You get what you pay for! Beware.
